Who builds it
Taxzi is built by David Sampson at SuperStack Development Studio, a software studio in Johannesburg. Correspondence goes to david.sampson@superstack.co.za.
What you get
Upload a PDF bank statement from a South African bank. Taxzi reads the lines against your work situation and shows an estimate of what SARS may allow. You keep or drop each line. You file the return yourself on SARS eFiling. Nothing on this site submits an ITR12.
How data is handled
The statement PDF is read for the analysis and then dropped. Taxzi does not keep the original file. Sensitive fields — ID number, tax number, transaction descriptions, and account numbers — are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Card payments go to PayFast. Taxzi does not store your card number.
Personal information is handled under the Protection of Personal Information Act. The detail is in the privacy policy and the terms.
Not a registered tax practitioner
Taxzi is an estimate assistance tool, not a registered tax practitioner. You review every line. Nothing files with SARS.
A result on Taxzi is an estimate to review, not an assessment and not advice from a registered tax practitioner. If your return is complicated, take the worksheet to someone who is registered.
